NPR podcast Planet Money is doing a special one-night only event in Brooklyn, featuring the World Premiere concert performance of MICRO-FACE! This new superhero musical is based on their re-launched comic book character Micro-Face, a superhero with a variety of audio super powers, and it is written by composer/lyricist/librettist Kit Goldstein Grant.
Planet Money hosts Kenny Malone and Robert Smith have revived the 1940s superhero Micro-Face, originally created by Allen Ulmer. In a series of episodes Planet Money has been exploring the public domain and the world of licensing and derivative works, and their own process in creating a new “superhero empire.” The comic book is currently available for sale on NPR’s website at npr.org/micro-face.
